Stephen McKenna, PhD
Associate Professor and Chair of Media Studies
Director of the Rhetoric Program

Ph.D., The Catholic University of America, 1996
Publications include: Adam Smith: The Rhetoric of Propriety (SUNY, 2005); World's Greatest Speeches, 4th ed. (Dover, 1999). Dr. McKenna has published articles on Adam Smith, the rhetoric of advertising, and U.S. presidential rhetoric.

Research interests include: history and theory of rhetoric; 18th-century English and Scottish aesthetics and ethics; semiotics; visual rhetoric; rhetoric of propaganda and advertising.
