  Adele Schmidt, M.A. Adjunct Professor of Media Studies

             

Adele Schmidt is a film & video producer, director and editor. She has produced several documentary films for PBS, APT and the History Channel. She won numerous awards in both documentary and fiction films, including the TIVA-DC's Peer Award, the U.S. International Film and Video Festival Award, the Telly Awards and the Gabriel Award.  She is co-founder of Zeitgeist Media LLC, an independent production company that is currently releasing a series on progressive rock music: "Romantic Warriors - A Progressive Music Saga". She is co-founder of Docs In Progress, a non-profit organization that creates community through documentary. She is a professorial lecturer for Film and Video production at American University in Washington, DC since 2009. Originally from Germany, Adele taught film and video production at the National Center for Cinematographic Studies, Mexico City. Adele has served as a panelist for the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (MD), reviewing applications in the disciplines of writing, philosophy, history, and media arts.
